Hi guys!
I just realized that it's been nearly six months since I updated this blog and I'm a little annoyed by that as I was really hoping that I'd have more news to share with you guys by now.
I am still working on three projects. They really have taken different turns than I was expecting so YAY for surprise turns. I don't usually outline things before I start so seeing them take me in directions I wasn't expecting is awesome and it definitely makes me excited to keep working on them. I'm definitely excited to see where each of these stories takes me.
Now, as some of you may know, November is National Novel Writing Month and my original plan was to work more on an NA Contemporary that has been neglected lately, but I feel like I want to start a whole new project just for this month. My preliminary plan is to do a NA Contemporary LGBT novel. I don't feel like we see any NA's that have a LGBT focus and I really want to write one.
Hopefully my plans come to fruition and I am able to complete this book in the month of November. That would be truly awesome as I have done NaNoWriMo once before and I started off really well, but life got in the way and my work was put on the back burner in favor of family stuff that was going on at the time.
I am no longer going to set a specific deadline for me to finish an MS with revisions and all as I feel like it puts way too much pressure on me as a writer and contrary to popular belief, I'm not just a writer. I wear many hats in my life.
My dream is still to be a published author, it just might take me a bit longer to get there.

Brief Update
Hi guys!
Shortly after I started this author blog, real life got in the way and I was unable to write for about a month. I would try to write nightly, but I was never happy with how it turned out. I am pretty sure that it had to do with my inspiration disappearing on me. Frustrating of course, but I didn't force it. I took a bit of a break and then returned this week.
I am a really slow typist so anything over 3k words a day is a big deal for me. This week I started serious work on my YA Thriller and I've got a little bit over 11k words so far. Ideally, I'd like to be completely finished with this one by June or July at the absolute latest, and yes that would include revisions & edits.
I actually ended up adding an element to the book that I wasn't intending to add, so I was surprised when it happened. I'm excited to get this project and my other two projects off the ground. I still have other things to decide on when it comes to the book, but I am doing my research and taking my time with those decisions. I absolutely do not want to rush things, so I'm going slowly, soaking in this process and getting help and encouragement from some great authors.
Hoping to post a bit more frequently, ideally once a week, but we'll see what happens.

My Writing Projects
Hello everyone,
I had been toying with the idea of starting an author blog for awhile. I have been quietly working on several projects. I cannot write just one thing, I have to have my feet dipped into several projects at the same time.
I started one project over the summer that was to be a YA Contemporary. I finished the first draft near Thanksgiving. Unfortunately I ended up being very unhappy with it and after reading it again in preparation for revisions, I scrapped the whole thing. I still like the concept of what I was attempting and am going to try it again, this time I want to eliminate some things and add some things to make the story more interesting.
In recent weeks I have also begun the bare bones of a YA Thriller that will have an LGBT Romance as a subplot. Super excited about this one. In fact I will be working on this one for Camp National Writers Month (or CampNaNoWriMo as it is referred to in the writing community) which begins April 1st. I am aiming for 25k words. Hoping that I can reach that and maybe even go further.
Despite me not really liking NA, I am also doing an NA Contemporary. I am anticipating problems with this one mostly because of my dislike for most NA. I've found that it seems to follow a certain formula. Boy & girl meet, insta-love and then they spend the majority of the rest of the book in bed having "amazing" and "mind-blowing" sex Sex is important but it's not the only important thing about adulthood. I am really excited about this NA as it involves family, friendship and love.
I don't have a timetable for these projects because I don't want to rush them. I am excited to see where each of these projects takes me. My ultimate goal is to finish & publish at least one of these projects by the end of the year.
